All is better and better

All is good at Lena, she goes on the amendment. Results of analyses from time to time are better and better. The doctor recommends to Alena to go out, to breathe air. But she is afraid. She is afraid that the clothes will press on seams that she will slip on heels (though they are small). But it is terrible now, she hasn’t tried yet. She was afraid of bandagings too at first, and now she isn’t afraid.

The father have signed out this morning, he has left home.

Hospital everyday life

Alena Kulikova goes on the amendment. The replaced kidney works regularly. It deduces a used liquid from an organism, as wound-up: only Alena will take a sip of a few waters, wants in a toilet in five minutes. The general state of health is good, not including pains from cuts. Next Tuesday doctors should remove seams, will do a biopsy in a month. The creatinine decreases and gradually comes nearer to norm. Lena complains of the hospital friends that they make laugh her, after all to laugh to her is painfully, but she smiles artfully. She reads fashionable magazines, solves crossword puzzles. The attending physician has told that it is time to Alena to leave to walk, to breathe air.

Operation has passed successfully

Lena Kulikova has operated on January, 12th. Operation has passed successfully. She and the father have brought to their chamber approximately at 18.45. The postoperative period of restoration has begun. The kidney has worked. There are all standard, if it is possible to be expressed, postoperative processes now: painful sensations, a painful urination, the pressure is very unsteady, creatinine skips. All will settle into shape subsequently.

When the girl has regained consciousness after operation, she was feeling sick, tore — so she recovered from a narcosis. All is in norm under ultrasonic and X-ray indications. Doctors have registered special exercise for working out of lungs for him (the father smokes, and there are some changes in lungs as reaction to operative intervention).

The grandmother is nearby with them now, Maria Alekseevna looks after them, helps to sit down and rise. It is necessary to move both for father and Alena, the doctor has told them to go gradually. So they courageously make small «walks» on a corridor.

Alena reacts on pain as well as any child: she cries. But there is nothing surprising in it, after all it is easier for transferring the pain with tears. She rises, leaves in a corridor with a dropper in hands, coping with it dexterous.

New Year’s holidays comes nearer to the end. There will be doctors again in branch of transplantation of a kidney at last tomorrow, the laboratory, an ultrasonic office will work, and daily efforts will begin: preparation for operations, checkup of already operated.

The father of Lena comes tomorrow. The girl expects operation, worries already: how will pass operation, how will she transfer a narcosis? She with the grandmother would like, that all has more soon ended.

We have visited in branch of renal transplantation RNCH 15-years old nice girl Lena Kulikova on December, 26th. Lena has got to the Moscow clinic from Shatsk of Ryazan region on ambulance service. Doctors have diagnosed: chronic nephritic insufficiency, a terminal stage. The urgent renal transplantation is necessary; the girl will be lost differently!

Operation on a renal transplantation from the father is appointed to January, 14th, 2010.

The sum necessary for rescue of the girl is 407 286 roubles.

All has begun, when the girl was one year old and month. Doctors have put an inoculation to the child, and in some days Lena has got to resuscitation with high temperature and a strong intoxication of an organism. Doctors have rescued the girl, but have told that there are serious problems with kidneys — chronic nephritic insufficiency (CNI). Doctors have warned that development will lag behind; there will be a curvature of the lower extremities. (Now legs of Lena are deformed, they disperse from knees in the parties a little, but not strong). Since she has laid down in a hospital constantly every year where she is under supervision in hospital in Ryazan. She has received physical inability.

The child has appointed on the strict diet which observance mum accurately watched. The girl grew the painful. Mum sat with her at home, she didn’t work, while a daughter was 8 years old. Lena has gone to school; she studied on 4 and 5 to the third class, then she began to study more hard. Teachers were called to mum from school often: «Take away your girl, she feels bad!».

The girl has been delivered in resuscitation on ambulance service on June, 30th, 2009, where she has stayed the whole month. Then she was appointed two dialysises simultaneously: a hemodialysis and peritoneal one. Lena has passed 18 hemodialyses for a month. Lena has spent all the summer long in a hospital in total; she was signed out only in second half of September. Now the girl is on constant peritoneal dialysis (since July, 2009) which she accepts 4 times a day. Lena, besides the basic diagnosis (CNI), has many accompanying diseases.

Alena (relatives name her so) is sociable, hospitable girl with brown eyes and a sonorous voice. On a question: «What do you want to become?» she answers: «Nurse». She isn’t afraid of needles and blood, because she has already got used to them. She dexterously copes with system, changes sacks with a medicine.

Her grandmother Maria Alekseevna has arrived to Moscow together with Lena. Mum remained at home because she need to be near to the son — Alena’s younger brother. Her brother (his name is Vlad) has an allergic asthma, there are rare attacks, and therefore it is impossible to leave him without supervision. Mum works as the cleaner in hospital and can, if it is necessary, to ask for leave from work. She can’t help working at all, because money for a food and medicines are necessary. The father works as the driver, but his salary is very small too.

When the child was in hospital last time (on planned checkup) in October-November, 2009, doctors have told that the urgent renal transplantation is necessary; the girl will be lost differently. There is no time to wait a cadaveric kidney; therefore her father becomes the donor. Change is appointed to January, 14th. Time hasn’t enough for a whip-round, as New Year’s holidays are ahead at all country.

Preparations АTG and Kempas have been delivered in RNCH, total cost of 407 286 roubles, for Lena Kulikova on December, 29th. Kempas and АTG have been borrowed under the Foundation letter of guarantee because time to wait wasn’t. Kempas will start to enter to Lena today. Kempas is entered the minimum of 14 days prior to operation. The preparation suppresses own immunity of the person that the organism hasn’t torn away another’s body, but does it correctly.

Lena was done FGS the same day or, simply, gastroscopy. She hasn’t appetite the second day, she looks and feels not very well; she is languid, sleepy, pale all the day. Though hemoglobin indicators like in norm — 123. Even the grandmother is surprised, says that it is lower usually. Alena doesn’t show any complaints on state of health, only worries that her photos will show on television. In her opinion, she turns out in photos badly. She simply hesitates most likely.
