We have communicated with Serezha and his mother yesterday. Results of a biopsy have come on Thursday. There is a risk that the basic disease glomerulonephritis (which has served as the reason of nephritic insufficiency) will pass to the new, replaced kidney. Doctors have entered the second time a preparation «Kempas» to stop this process and have now appointed the big doses of a preparation «Sandimon» because of what Serezha feels not so well: slackness, weakness, drowsiness are observed. It will be necessary further to select the necessary dose of this medicine simply. Earlier we wrote that Serezha has albumen in urine which maintenance doctors managed to be lowered, but after a biopsy the kidney has reacted to intervention and has thrown out considerable quantity of albumin again. There was a strong puffiness, doctors have appointed a diuretic — «Furosemid», puffiness slept a little, but still keeps. There is still low hemoglobin.

Seams on a foot have dispersed at mum, it was necessary to impose anew.

Probably that they will in hospital much longer, than it was supposed.

Many people worry about Serezha. One woman-pensioner with friends have given him a New Year’s gift — have transferred the big package with sweets, fruit and juice.

This New Year’s holiday is unusual for Serezha and his mother as they will meet New Year for the first time not at home, and not on a visit, but in hospital. They will be released at home only in the end of January though doctors promised by a holiday. But such is necessity. Mum has performed operation on a pulling of veins on a foot in 14th, and she will have the same operation on the second foot only after January, 10th. Serezha has been appointed on a biopsy to December, 28th, but it has transferred on 22 because of the beginning of Prenew Year’s vanity. Besides the extract delay is caused also by that Sergey still has an albumen in urine, though and in ready smaller degree, than couple of weeks back. Doctors continue to drip «Albumin» for albumen deducing, have appointed preparations on hemoglobin increase (the lowered hemoglobin). Seams have been removed on Wednesday. Serezha and his mother are bricks! They don’t despond, say that all will be good, and the main thing, they are assured of it. Both of them are very smiling and confused a little. However they have agreed to be photographed.

All missing money for medicines for Sergey are collected. We thank all who has helped with fund raising. But there is an actual problem with money for tickets. Sasovs have no money to buy these tickets simply. Serezha can be given a discount only because he isn’t 18 years old yet. But this discount is insignificant. Therefore we will be glad, if someone helps these remarkable people to get tickets. Their position is the extremely disastrous; there is nothing to take even products. But there are compassionate people who can’t remain indifferent and help in process of possibilities, buy products and transfer them in hospital for Serezha and his mother. It is separate gratitude for them.

Serezha didn’t tell about what he dreams. But we know that he loves football. And he is sport fan, but he supports not a concrete command, and for beautiful football simply, and, certainly, for Russia. Though it is easy to guess about his dream — certainly, he wants to be healthy and to lead high-grade life.

So it would be desirable, that all in life has developed at this nice guy!

Serezha with mum have transferred in the general chamber. Serezha already gets up, goes. He has started to drink water, and restoration process has gone better. The blood clot formed in ureter has resolved. The temperature rises from time to time, but nor strong, pressure too is more or less stable, though hardly is overestimated, but, at least, there are no strong sharp differences. Now doctors have found out albumen in urine both at Serezha and at mum, but there is nothing terrible in it, on assurance of doctors, — so the organism reacts to operation, kidneys, thank God, work. They drip «Albumin» to deduce albumen. The general condition is satisfactory. Mood of both is good, I even would tell, vigorous and optimistical, with belief in the good future.

Mum will have the second operation on Monday on a foot from which doctors have removed a blood clot, they will extend a vein. And next week, the same operation (on a vein pulling) will do on the second foot.

It is good that it has occurred in hospital, and doctors could assist to mum of Serezha in time.

After an extract both of them will be observed as out-patient in RNCH. They should arrive every three month in capital, to make tests, to be checked. It is necessary.

Still we continue gathering of missing means for a medicine for Serezha and on air tickets for him and his mother.

Serezha has a high temperature, the reason is unknown while. Doctors will take analyses tomorrow, to find out, in what business. The blood clot was formed in ureter; there are blood clots with urine, urination is painful. Doctors have told that it is necessary to drink more water then the clot will resolve and leaves with urine. They recommend drinking three liters a day, but Serezha is difficult to drink such volume of a liquid. He masters 1,5 liters while, tries, increases quantity of used water slowly. Restoration vegetables, fruit, low-fat meat are required for the prompt.

We continue fund raising on medicines for Sergey, and also on tickets. We will be glad to any help.

Today mum of Serezha has performed operation on a foot; doctors have removed a blood clot. In this connection, their relative will be leave in hospital while. But a question with habitation is urgent still. We will wait for the further news.

Operation on a renal transplantation of Serezha Sasov has been made on December, 2nd. His mother became the donor for Serezha. Both mum and Serezha feel well, they can’t get up yet, but mood is vigorous, smile. Doctors should make a biopsy on December, 28th.

Doctors do every other day a hemodialysis for Serezha, every other day plazmoforez. They have already started to enter Kempas. There is no money on the most expensive medicine, AGT-Frezenius; it is required at once after transplantation. Mum and Serezha wait with excitement, when money for a preparation will be raised. They don’t ask about it aloud, but it is felt «between lines». I ask what to bring, by what to please, but Serezha refuses all. As doctor Nadezhda Babenko spoke about Nastya Filatova (even before change), when I asked a similar question «what is it possible?» and «by what can I please Nastya?», as well as Serezha now, «it is possible to please with a new kidney».

Change has appointed to December, 2nd. It is very important to be in time with transplantation and the regenerative period to New Year’s holidays because there will come calm in RNCH as well as in all country and changes won’t be spent. And there is passed «a point of non-return» at Serezha and preparation for operation has begun. He and his mother trust in us, as in wizards. They believe that many sympathetic people will want and can unite and will rescue his life. Doctors in branch too very much wait that we will help.

There is New Year soon; it is time to make gifts. Let’s present this operation to Serezha; we will develop all who and how many can!

Meet! Serezha Sasov. He is 17 years old. He is from Khabarovsk. More precisely, almost from Khabarovsk...

... It was one hour of driving on public transport to Khabarovsk. Three times a week. Throughout 9 years! Because when you are on a hemodialysis, your life is subordinated to this dictatorship. Therefore on a question: «and how do you study, well?» — Serezha isn’t a shame to answer: «It is bad certainly» and to smile from ear to ear. If to study only 2 times a week, and in other days to go on a dialysis from settlement Nikolaevka (it is remote village to our measures) to Khabarovsk, one hour there, 4 hours per hospital, one hour back, — it is not so surprising that it is not possible to make up for the passed lessons. But it is surprising, how was it possible to keep vivacity of spirit and cheerful nature?

Serezha grew up as all children at first. Then one of usual nurseries ARD has appeared fatal, a principal cause of refusal of kidneys is glomerulonephritis, it has begun at the five years’ boy against high temperature. The boy has been hardly rescued in resuscitation, Serezha has spent year in the Khabarovsk hospital. Then flights to Moscow, treatment attempts there have begun, and Serezha has transferred on a hemodialysis after the third visit after returning to Khabarovsk.

It is always very disturbing when the child gets on a dialysis; since important substances are washed away from a growing organism, it couldn’t precede so long...

Serezha has been put in a waiting list on change of cadaveric body one year ago, but the intolerance of alien albumen was found out at Serezha at injection of donor blood casually, therefore this kind of transplantation became impossible.

Now, after 9 years on a hemodialysis, unique rescue of Serezha’s life can be only a renal transplantation from mum incompatible by blood. Serezha hasn’t other relatives. Already now it is necessary to start to enter immunosuppressors «Kempas» and «AGT-Frezenius», treatment by which doesn’t pay by the state, it is necessary for that the kidney has got accustomed, considering a difference in blood types. Operation is appointed to December, 1st, time hasn’t enough for a whip-round, the boy and mum already are in branch of transplantation of kidney RNCH.

Cost of preparations is 399 300 roubles. Such is the price of Serezha’s life, without exaggeration, according to doctors, he hasn’t other choice, and only with preparations the mum’s kidney will get accustomed and will present for Serezha, at least, 30 years of high-grade life! And for these years the medicine will have time to make still a step forward and there will be new ways of rescue of such patients!
